Garnell Theodore Scott Jr. is a martial artist who started studying Shorin-ryu in 1992 and was a black belt instructor by 1997. Garnell has been in countless tournaments and has received numerous accolades in that realm. While in high school Garnell enthusiastically volunteer at the Virginia Air and Space Center where he was later hired as a Museum Educator. He also sat on the Hampton Youth Commission which reported directly to City Council about youth related issues and was vigorously involved in the opening of The Hampton Teen Center, a place where youth could go and hang out between school and home. He later went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Banking at Hampton University in Hampton, VA. While at HU Garnell was one of the founding members of the investment club where he severed the organization as 2nd Vice President. During his collegiate years he had the opportunity to travel to New York, New York and work with Goldman Sachs. Also, he has worked for the City of Hampton, VA as a Business Evaluator Supervisor and for the City of Newport News, VA as a Financial Services Analysts for the Department of Development. In 2007 he started Debnell.com, which is a web portal that houses thousands of products and services, in partnership with Amway Global and continues to grow that business. Also he works in retail management with a multi- billion dollar Fortune 50 company where he helps to run a 30 million dollar business unit. Garnell made his transition from businessman to business coach and leadership educator in early 2010 and currently serves The Ruth Gridiron Foundation as its Executive Director.
